Live poker is starting to return worldwide in late spring, with one of Europe’s largest rooms, King’s Casino Rozvadov, officially resuming operations on May 11. More brick-and-mortar poker rooms reopened around the world over the summer, but many did without the typical tournament offerings.

The DeepStack Showdown Poker Series ran from September 7-27, and featured more than $ 400,000 in guaranteed money prizes on the 32-event schedule. The demand for live tournaments has proven strong, with each event beating its guarantees, and most do so by a sizable margin.

When the series delays were first announced, organizers indicated that they hoped to reschedule, albeit possibly with a revised schedule, for some time in the fall.

“We are committed to running the World Series of Poker this year but it will take additional time to continue on our traditional scale while prioritizing the well-being of guests and staff,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart at the time.
